The Institute for Habits of Mind lists all people on this page that we endorse to support schools as they seek to infuse the Habits into their culture and curriculum.

Schools and organizations should only use qualified trainers recognized by the Institute for Habits of Mind to provide training in Habits of Mind.

Michele's professional work for the last twelve years has focused on educational reform prioritizing the understanding of both content and leadership development within all levels of a PK–16 system. At the El Paso Collaborative for Academic Excellence, Michele was the Director of K–12 Math and Science Partnership and previously served as the Director for Leadership Development and Director for Literacy. During these years she provided leadership for school administrators and school-based coaches in standards-based teaching and learning.

John Kiemele, Ed.D.


John Kiemele currently serves as the principal of Coal Creek Elementary in the Boulder Valley School District.  He has been an elementary teacher, a school administrator, and a college lecturer. John is a contributor to Integrating and Sustaining Habits of Mind, by Drs. Arthur Costa and Benna Kallick.  Dr. Kiemele has worked with various faculties in adopting the Habits of Mind framework and has been closely associated with Dr. Costa since 1992.
