Henry Toi

Henry Toi is the Executive Director of The Art Costa Centre for Thinking. He graduated with honours in Civil Engineering from the National University of Singapore and obtained a Masters of Education from the RMIT University in Melbourne. He has authored several books, including an award winning “Phonics Zoo”, “My Little Thinking Book”, his latest being the “Habits of S.U.C.C.E.S.S.”
During his corporate career, he had served the Singapore Government (Monetary Authority of Singapore), Shell Petroleum, Standard Chartered Bank and the OCBC Asset Management, all in the area of finance and policy management. He went on to start several businesses, including the largest student magazine publisher and distributor in Singapore. Currently he oversees the operations of four companies. As the Managing Director of Buzan Centre Asia Limited, he manages the licensing and training of more than 100 instructors across 11 countries in Asia. He has successfully coached senior executives to mind map, speed read and become more creative and efficient thinkers. On the education front, Henry has taught in primary, secondary and tertiary classrooms, conducted hundreds of workshops for teachers on the Habits of Mind and is the course writer for a unique Learning to Learn module for SIM University. He is also the Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations Association of Singapore.=
Henry works in the area of Habits of Mind, teaching for thinking, multiple intelligences, Mind Mapping, creativity, memory and speed reading.
He has conducted workshops in China, Hong Kong, Thailand, India, Singapore, the Philippines and Malaysia.
He is also a regular speaker at conferences such as the 13th International Conference on Thinking in Sweden and the 20th American Creativity Association Conference in Singapore, the International Child Conference in Singapore and most recently at the 14th International Conference on Thinking Kuala Lumpur in June 2009.
